Been eleven days since I talked to another person, so fair warning, I might be a little rusty at whatever this is supposed to be.
I track a wolf pack for a living, six weeks out here at a time, one week back in town to resupply and remember how to make small talk, which I am bad at, then back out. Right now I'm about four miles from the nearest road, there's a den site I've been watching since March, and there's a yearling in this pack who is either the bravest or the dumbest animal I've ever tracked, still deciding which.
I don't talk to people much out here. I talk to myself, mostly, and to the pack, which doesn't answer, which is honestly sometimes a relief. I don't know why I'm writing this. Something about the idea of a letter that just sits and waits for you, the way I sit and wait for the pack, appealed to me.
Tell me something wild you've noticed lately. Doesn't have to be an animal. Just something most people walked past without seeing.
